i love my job...

so, i've almost completed my 11 week orientation at my new job as a child life specialist. throughout my orientation i've worked in each area that child life provides services...pediatrics, pediatric icu, nicu (neonatal icu), oncology, surgery, etc. i've learned so much in each area and from each specialist i've worked with. but, i've been anxious to know the area in which i will work...and now i know!

i'll be working in outpatient surgery in the mornings. in this area i'll talk to kids and their families about what they will experience during this process...meeting their doctors and nurses, how they will "go to sleep" for surgery, where they will be when they wake up from surgery and all the other stuff in between. i'll be working with a range of ages, so it will be a lot of fun and keep me on my toes!

in the afternoon's i'll be working in the nicu!!! i'll be loving on precious babies, providing support to their mommies and daddies, and teaching their siblings about the nicu and what they will see when they visit their baby sister/brother.

i feel so blessed to be working in both of these areas. i feel like this is exactly what God has created me do. He is just so good...too good, really! but i'm so thankful for His goodness!
